As Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) transition to the Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) model it’s more important than ever we equip Caretakers to succeed. Part of this involves understanding which trigger species occur within IBA/KBAs aside from birds, as well as providing opportunities to submit non-bird sightings where possible using iNaturalist. Join us April 19th at 12 PM Pacific, 3 PM Eastern to hear from other Caretakers and IBA partners on how they’ve used iNaturalist to engage their communities and nature groups and identify threatened dragonflies, toads, lichens, and everything in-between.
Watch presentations from Liam Ragan (BC IBA Coordinator and KBA B.C. First Nations Liaison), James Pagé (Species at Risk and Biodiversity Specialist at Canadian Wildlife Federation), and Anne Murray (IBA Caretaker and Chair of Birds and Biodiversity Conservation Committee at Delta Naturalists Society).
A webinar hosted by BC Nature, Birds Canada, and WCS Canada.
